When your ABS light (and, depending on your model, BRAKE light) illuminates, this
indicates a fault in your anti-lock braking system and should be addressed before
continuing driving. It’s essential that any issues be identified and fixed quickly
before restarting driving again.
Resetting your ABS light can typically be accomplished using a scanner and reading
its codes, though you could also manually inspect sensors, wiring, and connectors
for issues.
1. Faulty Wheel Speed Sensor
If your Dodge Ram ABS light and traction control warning lights have come on,
chances are it’s because of a wheel speed sensor issue. These components of ABS
detect when wheels lose grip during sudden braking; once detected they send a
signal to their respective ABS control modules to reduce hydraulic pressure on that
particular wheel.
